City applies for grant to extend parkway & install all-way stop signs at Dinuba/Zumwalt Avenues

Matthew Casarez

On November 8, Reedley City Council Members unanimously approved the submission of a grant application to the Active Transportation Program, a consolidation of existing state and federal transportation programs, of $2,819,000 in funding to extend the Rails-Trail parkway at Reedley Sports Park and improve infrastructure on Dinuba Ave at the Zumwalt Ave.

The parkway currently runs from Huntsman Ave to the south of the Sports Park Water Tower. Upon grant approval, the parkway would run along the eastern edge of the Reedley Sports Park along Traver Creek from the existing path to Dinuba Ave. From there, a sidewalk will be installed along the southern side of Dinuba Ave. Additionally, crosswalks and all-way stop signs will be installed at the intersection of Dinuba and Zumwalt Avenues.
